Background I recently completed specialized training in game development through Michigan State University's Game Design and Development with Unity Specialization and CalArts Extended Studies' Game Design: Art and Concepts Specialization (both issued April 2025). These programs really deepened my understanding of both the technical and artistic sides of game creation.
This one's been my main focus lately - it's a rhythm-adventure game where music and gameplay intertwine in ways I haven't seen before. Every beat drives the action forward, and the story unfolds through the melodies you create and discover.
I wanted to explore how sound can be more than just background music in games, so EchoGrid makes audio a core mechanic. It's been a fun challenge working out the timing systems and making sure everything feels responsive.
Unity: My go-to for more complex projects, especially when I need robust physics and 3D capabilities. The component system just clicks with how I think about game architecture.
JavaScript Canvas: Perfect for experimental stuff and web games. There's something satisfying about building everything from scratch and having complete control over every pixel.
